Final opportunity to register for the 2016 season, and get fitted for your uniform starts in 3 hours! Registration from 4-5 & Fittings with our Varsity rep 5-7. All Vikings must be present tonight, or email for alternative options at email@example.com.
Please have returning Vikings arrive in their uniform or bring it with to try on. You will have the option to purchase individual pieces this year of items you may have grown out of or may be missing. It is not required to purchase new cheer shoes for football season if yours from last year still fit. However it will be required for competition season should you decide to join us for that.
New Vikings, please come with tight fitting shorts and tank top/sports bra to make try on's easier. You will be changing in one room with multiple others.
Father's and Brother's, we appreciate those of you that will be bringing your cheerleader, however, we will ask that you remain out of the room that the girls are being fitted in. If you would like to approve your daughter's uniform fit, we would be happy to send her out to you once in uniform.
Tons of information will be provided tonight on upcoming events, and our first fundraiser kicks off tonight. When you arrive, check in with the director on the front porch for further instructions. Plan to spend 45-60 minutes at fittings tonight.

Hello Viking Families,
The 2016 Cheer Season is just around the corner, and events will start happening in the next few weeks! We are so excited to welcome you all to our PJV family and know that we are going to have so much fun! There is a ton of information for everything upcoming below. Please read carefully, and let me know if you have any questions. Personal emails will go out next week letting you know if and what we are missing for your child.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE JUNE 15TH - Registration is considered over in ten days. Registration fee is $175, due at time of registration. From June 15th-June 30th, we will allow a few late comers recruited from Meeker days, however the price will be $200, and you will not be able to get fitted in person for a uniform, you will have to send in measurements. You can register any day between now and then by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have started the registration process, but have not paid in full, all funds are due by June 15th as well.
WEDNESDAY JUNE 15TH IS MANDATORY FITTINGS & FINAL REGISTRATION - Location is Director Jenel’s house (See email for address). 4:00-5:00 Registration & 5:00-7:00 Fittings. If you have not registered, this will be your last opportunity at the price of $175. Fittings is mandatory for all cheerleaders returning and new. You will receive fundraising items and information. Returning cheerleaders please wear or bring your entire uniform from last year. New cheerleaders please come in tight fitting shorts & tank top to try on uniforms. If you have anyone you think may be interested in joining, please spread the word. If you absolutely can not attend this event, you will have to notify us at email@example.com for options. Reminder payment for cheer uniform is $285 for full uniform. This is not included in registration fee, and is paid directly to Varsity. Payments for uniforms will be due online by June 30th. (If you are a returning girl needing only a few items, you will select those and be given a price at fittings. If you are a mascot, your uniform fee is $100 due at fittings)
STAYING IN THE LOOP - Although we do try to make sure that everyone is well informed of the happenings for cheer, sometimes certain methods are quicker to get a word out than others. We will send emails out to everyone regarding upcoming events, buy when it is a quick update for the day of an event or such, Facebook or PJVcheer.com are our go to methods. TUMBLING CLASSES - Currently we are participating in optional tumbling classes being held on Saturday’s from 1-2:30. It is a private class for just our girls. It is 100% optional, however if you would like to attend, join us next Saturday at 1:00pm at Auburn Gymnastics. Price is $75 for a punch card for 5 classes. It is not mandatory to attend every week, and your punch card is only deducted if you are in attendance. Tumbling is also not mandatory for cheer, however is helpful if you would like to grow with our Elite Competition squad.
MEEKER DAYS - Meeker days is June 17th-19th. A Volunteer Spot sign up sheet for everyone to sign up for a shift will be coming out this week. This is an event that the Jr Vikings participate in every year, and a great opportunity to get information out to the community about our program. We will have a Cheer Coach on duty for every shift. The cheerleaders come in uniform if they have it, or purple and gold. They will be selling Candy Necklaces and Car Wash tickets as well as recruiting cheerleaders for the season. When you receive the Volunteer Spot sign up sheet, please select a shift or two that works for you. We may need girls to sign up for more than one shift. Parents are welcome to stay and assist if they would like.
CAR WASH - PJV CHEER WILL BE HOSTING ONE LARGE CAR WASH THIS YEAR - Final details are being worked out as we speak, however the plan is to be held at Les Schwab Puyallup Saturday July 16th 12pm-3pm. As mentioned above, the team will be selling tickets at meeker days. Tumbling class will be canceled for this day. We will sell tickets for $10 and require each cheerleader to sell 5 tickets, separate from Meeker Days. This fundraiser will purchase their pink supplies for the month of October (poms, socks, bows, laces). If they choose not to participate in the sales of tickets and the event itself, they can pay $50 to purchase their pink items, or they will not receive pink items. *Participation includes attending a minimum of 1.5 hours at the car wash, or supply donations approved by Director (limited spots available for supply donation, notify Director at firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP if you cannot attend the event and would like to donate supplies instead.) Participation in the event is separate from participation in the sales. You must do both to pay for your pink items. Car wash tickets will be distributed at fittings June 15th, and all proceeds from ticket sales is due to the Director by Friday July 15th.
CHEER BOX SPONSORS - More information on this will be available at Fittings. From June 15th - August 15th we will be looking for companies to sponsor our cheer team. Businesses will be advertised on our cheer boxes at home games. If you know a small business that may be interested in some affordable advertising whiles supporting our program, we would love to get you more information. Cheer box sponsorships will help to pay for team equipment for the year as well as some amazing cheer events we have planned.
MEET AND GREET BBQ - To be held Saturday July 23rd (after tumbling) from 3pm-7pm. It will be a potluck, and will have supply sign ups on volunteerspot. We will be tie dying t shirts again this year. PJV will supply the paint. Girls to bring a white tshirt already rubber banded and ready to paint. Location (See Email for address) (Same location as fittings). We will have the giant Slip and Slide out and are asking for liquid dish soap & floaty donations. Recommended to bring goggles if you have them and bring a towel and swimsuit. We will also have a Photo booth, cotton candy machine, and relay races. This is a great opportunity to get to know everyone and have fun prior to the first day of practice. Parents are able to stay and enjoy the fun while helping their little one to get comfortable with their coaches and teammates.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE - Cheer practice begins Monday August 1st and are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday for the month of August from 6-8pm. Location of practices for the month of August are still being finalized, however we will be outdoors with the football team. September practice schedule will be adjusted some for school starting and competition practices. September schedule to be released at a later date.
CANDY BAR SALES - Our big fundraiser for Football season will be World’s Finest chocolate bars. This was extremely successful for us last year. Candy bars are sold for $1 each and we get 50% of the proceeds. Will be held for 2 weeks in August. A minimum of 3 boxes (60 bars per box) per cheerleader must be sold. This is a mandatory fundraiser, or buy out is $90. More details to come. This pays for equipment and gym rental for the season.
ELITE TRYOUTS - PJV Elite team will be a Senior Rec team this year ages 5-18. Tumbling or Non Tumbling TBD with skill levels. Cheerleaders who are in the Puyallup School District, must participate in Football season or be in High School and have not made the High School Cheer team to be eligible for PJV Elite. PJV Elite will allow cheerleaders from other districts to participate in Elite season and not Football Season, if there district does not participate in Competitions. Elite Tryouts will be held in September with a Workshop September 1st, and Tryouts September 6 & 7. Location/Gym and Times to be determined. Elite girls that are coming from other districts will be allowed to participate in NJFL competition, however girls over the NJFL age limit will not. Fees and fundraising involved with the Elite team will be provided by the middle of August. Elite Season will run from September through January 2017. This is separate from our regular cheer season, and is a huge commitment.
NJFL COMPETITION - Will be held at Puyallup High School, Sunday November 13th. This is for all cheerleaders from Football season and Elite season who would like to participate. We will be breaking up as a Showcase, a Non-Stunting, and Stunting group.
2016 COACHING STAFF - A huge thank you goes out to those who so selflessly donate their time and commitment to help run this program smoothly. It takes an army sometimes! Please help me welcome our Coaches!
